Teachers and Professionals:
YES! I may be interested in joining the staff!
The Academy of Film Television Stage and Performing Arts (AFTSPA) is excited to announce the expansion of its programs to include comedy workshops, writing and screenplay workshops, movement, dance, directing, cinematography, sound engineering, make up, stage craft, production, voice over classes for those interested in a professional career and participation in projects currently in development in the Entertainment Industry and more specifically those in development by Willy-Gilly Productions, Inc.
The Academy's "Acting Anyone Workshop" currently offers acting classes in the Sanford Meisner Acting Technique (list students) and Voice classes in the Seth Riggs Method of ‘Speech Level Singing.’
Graduates of Sanford Meisner’s Neighborhood playhouse include Diane Keaton, Gregory Peck, Jeff Goldblum Eli Wallach, Robert Duvall, Christopher Lloyd, Mary Steenburgen, Sydney Pollack, Sandra Bullock, Tony Randall and our own David Patrick Wilson, to name just a few.
‘Speech Level Singing’ is the method which was used by Michael Jackson and is still being used by Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Tony Braxton, Michael Bolton and many 'American Idol' and 'X-Factor' contestants. It has been deemed as the healthiest way to study voice.
Expansion of the curriculum is due to the tremendous increase in the filming of feature and TV in the Hudson Valley. These additional classes will prepare the student with the tools and techniques to prepare themselves for a career in the Entertainment Industry. This industry is currently a 2.5 Trillion Dollar sector and is anticipated to be over 3 Trillion in the coming year.
We are therefore calling all teachers and potential students.
